He was left with a sore arm and neck, a swollen lip and a loose tooth...."What is it going to help?" he asked. "It is just no good. It is one of those things that happen every day in South Africa."....

You, however, should always report crimes as seen here to police and demand a police report copy from police afterwards. Why !!?

1) For your personal protection(what about if they come after you or your family !!?).
2) For your record if you ever get involved in another incident with black terrorists
3) Because the world have the right to know about what is taking place in South Africa(if you are disillusioned with SA press, write me a letter and I will have one published for you). You should be concern about world's views on your situation in South Africa..it does matter !!!
4) Because you are obligated according to the law to report crime to police.

Cape Town man gives confused hijacker a backhand

Cape Town - A group of hijackers who thought they would get away with a snazzy sports car in Cape Town ended up dazed and empty-handed when their victim fought back.

Being attacked was the last thing on JB Meyer snr's, 52, mind as he locked up his auto repairs shop on Friday afternoon and made his way home through Uitsig.

Driving his burnt orange Toyota GT86, he stopped behind a car at an intersection with his window down.

"I was still having a sip of ice tea, relaxed, and they must have run from my blind side because this fist connected with my head," he told News24 on Monday.

The punch gave him whiplash and left him with a loose tooth and a cut on his upper lip. Two men tried leaning in through the window to get hold of his car keys and presumably pull him out.

'Taking everything you have'

Two accomplices apparently stood nearby as lookouts.

"I was totally surprised. The guy inside told me: 'Vandag vat ek jou alles [Today I am taking everything you have]'," said Meyer.

While they had a taste for the flashy, the hijackers did not know that the car had a push-start button in the central console and keyless entry.

"I backhanded him twice with my right hand and I think he got confused because they tried to grab keys but they were not there."

The traffic light changed and Meyer was able to drive off, leaving the men swearing.

It happened in a matter of seconds but felt like ages, he said.

Just another day in SA

Meyer never thought it would happen to him but said it was a "lesson learnt".

"I can just imagine how people must feel when a gun is put next to your head. You never know, the others could have had weapons."

He was left with a sore arm and neck, a swollen lip and a loose tooth.

Meyer's car retails from R421 500, has a personalised number plate, and was one of only three in burnt orange in Cape Town.

"If they had taken it, they might have probably gone for a joyride because it would be spotted so quickly."

A cynical Meyer said he had not bothered to report the matter to the police.

"What is it going to help?" he asked. "It is just no good. It is one of those things that happen every day in South Africa."
